Organized wholly by GSAS PhD students, PhD Talks is an annual speaker series dedicated to the exploration of interdisciplinary themes that engage issues of space. PhD Talks is an opportunity for our program, which is deeply interdisciplinary, and includes participation from the departments of History, American Studies, Art History, Sociology, Philosophy, History of Science, Anthropology and Film and Visual Studies to come together as an intellectual unit and assert its relevance within the context of a professional school, the Graduate School of Design. It is also a chance for us to showcase the more historical and theoretical work being produced to the wider GSAS and Harvard community.

The PhD students also sponsor conferences such as the New England chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians Graduate Student Symposium, which takes place every year at a university in the Boston area, and at Harvard approximately every three years. These conferences offer the opportunity for graduate students in the department to connect with PhD students and faculty at other local institutions, as well as to share their research in a conference setting.

The BBS Peer Mentors are a group of upper year BBS students dedicated to promoting community amongst BBS students and to providing advice and support to our fellow BBSers. We are a diverse group who are available for one-on-one meetings to discuss any challenges students may be facing. We also work with groups of first year students to answer questions and welcome them to the BBS community. Additionally, we hold quarterly community building events for all BBS students.

Our goal at the Biomedical Graduate Student Organization (BGSO) is to enrich and foster a sense of community among PhD students in the Life Sciences at Harvard Medical School, through a series of social and academic initiatives. BGSO represents the over 700 PhD students enrolled in HMS-based graduate programs affiliated with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS). These include the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS), Virology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Speech and Hearing Bioscience and Technology (SHBT), and Bioinfomatics and Integrative Genomics (BIG). BGSO is also a student funding entity which allocates resources to DMS-based student groups for social and/or academic activities.

The Biostatistics PhD Peer Mentor Program aims to create a network of guidance, community, and support for Biostatistics students as they move through their PhD years. The Peer Mentor Program matches mentors to mentees, organizes activities to bolster mentorship, and hosts student support seminars that provide advice and enhance the well-being and success of early-year doctoral students.

The BPH Peer Mentor Team is comprised of BPH students from across G-years, working towards the common goal of supporting peers and each other throughout their graduate studies. Students are matched with peer mentors based on defined needs and interests to develop strong connections and effective mentor-mentee partnerships. The trained and diverse team of peer mentors connects with mentees through both one-on-one meetings and group activities to foster community engagement and provide peer support.

The EALC Peer Mentoring Program serves to foster and strengthen a collaborative community among graduate students of various disciplines and G-years. Student Mentees (typically G1-G3, but open to all) are assigned to a Peer Mentor (G3+) who can offer advice on: -Adjusting to campus life and understanding university resources across campus -Establishing social, professional, and academic relationships both within the EALC department and campus-wide -Balancing coursework, TF-ships, and research with personal hobbies and interests -Navigating degree milestones such as generals, prospectus, and dissertation writing. In addition to the bi-weekly checkins for mentee-mentor pairs, the EALC Peer Mentoring Program also strives to organize a Welcome Party/BBQ, Writing Hour (3 per semester), *Peer-led* Prospectus Workshop Series, Generals Panel Series, End-of Year Celebration, Periodic Social Gatherings/Outings. These are open to the entire graduate student body within the EALC department.

Events and activities from recent years have included: the institution of a Digital Humanities Workshop Series; a Title XI and OSAPR training session; the Music Department Wellness Initiative; a GMF-led workshop as part of the Undergraduate Music Curriculum Review; and a trip to Flatbreads for some candlepin bowling!

The goals of Harvard Graduate Students in Linguistics (HGSL) are twofold: primarily, we strive to create an environment conducive to community building, by organizing social events (for example, the departmental Happy Hours and Study Breaks during the exam period), and implementing various community-building projects within our community (for example, the yearly Photo Contest). Secondly, we aim to provide opportunities for graduate students to acquire practical skills pertinent to our field of study, specifically those not otherwise offered by the department or GSAS. We do so by organizing workshops on specific topics, based on suggestions from the student body, led by members of the HGSL executive committee and fellow graduate student volunteers. For example, we organized a two-session workshop titled: 'Praat for Linggrads', which taught students how to use software that is useful for various linguistic studies, and we sometimes offer a similar workshop on LaTeX.

The Harvard Middle Eastern Cultural Association (HMECA) seeks to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of Middle Eastern cultures by hosting and supporting various cultural, social, and academic programs within and surrounding the Harvard community. HMECA's primary goal is to serve as a social anchor and cornerstone for the interdisciplinary community of GSAS students, faculty, and interested members of the university to promote awareness of the region's history and culture, and to contribute to the social and intellectual vibrancy of Harvard University. HMECA will employ its resources to inform the Harvard community of the various programs it will be sponsoring.

The Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Council (GPC) is the official representative body for the graduate students and postdocs of the Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology (CCB) at Harvard. The GPC organizes both academic and social activities, including Friday happy hours, the Student-Invited Speaker Series (academic and non-academic), CCB department Swag, career-planning seminars, G0 Visiting Weekend and Orientation week activities, and the annual CCB Departmental Research Symposium. We also advocate for students and postdocs within the department on a range of issues. We are always looking for volunteers to help manage these events and activities, and we welcome any input on how to improve student and postdoc life in the Department. The National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP) Harvard Chapter Departmental Group is part of the larger joint Harvard-MIT NSBP Chapter. We seek to connect members through social engagement between both campuses. As the number of Black students in physics increases at both institutions, the need for a space to commune and share experiences becomes even more important. We seek to engage members through STEM outreach at local high schools and grade schools. We believe that connecting with students early on in their schooling can have a profound positive impact on their trajectories. We seek to enrich members through professional networking with faculty at both institutions and beyond. Building upon the experiences and perspectives of established scientists is necessary to foster innovation within our membership. Finally, we seek to cultivate members through research panels and scientific discussions. By exposing ourselves to feedback from a variety of fields and specialties, the critical thinking of our members will increase manyfold, enhancing research productivity.

The Slavic Studies Graduate Collective serves as a hub for graduate students in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, fostering community and intellectual exchange across our diverse fields of study. Our programming will include regular film screenings showcasing cinema, poetry discussion groups exploring works in original languages and translation, and language tables providing informal opportunities to practice Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Czech, and other Slavic languages. We also plan to organize casual social gatherings to build connections beyond the academic setting. We welcome students from related programs including History, Comparative Literature, REECA, and other disciplines with interests in the cultures and languages of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
